| Description: | Based on a poem by John Donne and composed for a female vocalist, this piece starts with a haunting intro over an ostinato bass line. The vocalist enters and presents the theme, whereafter an increasingly chaotic ensemble chorus leads up to a freely interpreted part. After a general pause, the vocalist repeats the theme and the piece ends with a growling trumpet solo. Notated key C. |
