Quirky Quantum Quarks

Description: A funky piece in “60´s bordering on 70´s” rock style. A short intro launches the main theme and stick twice, and after the last round the first soloist – trumpet 2 in fluegelhorn – is let loose in a solo chorus that can be open as desired. The fluegelhorn solo ends in a sax interlude, which in its turn is followed by a beat passage with the rhythm section and a harmon muted trumpet 4. The rest of the winds join in – horns muted – and end the passage in a modest shout to a pick up and ensuing solo chorus for the sax soloist. An ensemble chorus follows the sax solo and a shout leads to a restart of the groove. After repeating the main theme and stick twice with a harmonic alteration this time, the piece ends with a brief retake on the intro. Notated key Eb.
