Ghost In the Rain (No listening currently available) |
Description: | A medium ballad in even 8:ths – with frequent meter changes – for a male and a female vocalist duet, with lyrics by Daniel Eng that hint at grief and mental unhealth, this tune is composed around Japanese scales and modes. Starting with a conducted intro featuring some piano fills and soft backgrounds in the horns, the female vocalist sets off the first verse that in turn is followed by a verse sung by the male vocalist; the wind instruments commenting and backing up throughout the verses, with the brass making extensive use of various mutes. After two female and two male verses, a short ensemble part follows whereafter both vocalists join in together in duet for the final verse. The piece then ends in a conducted quotation of the intro, with piano fills and backing wind instruments. Notated key: Gm |
