Description: A medium 5/4 swing for a female vocalist, with lyrics by Daniel Eng, this piece starts with an allusion to children’s songs, by fluegelhorn-topped brass. The vocalist then presents the three main verses, each ended by four-bar solo fills from, in turn, tenor sax, fluegelhorn and trombone. After the verses comes an ensemble part, where the three solo-filling instruments each get another four bars to play solistically. An ensuing muted ensemble part, now with trumpets, then leads to an increasingly loud open ditto, which in its turn leads to a build up to a short shout. A soft quotation of the intro then hands over to some meter changes, where the vocalist sings the last two tag-verses of the lyrics, whereafter the song ends in another quotation of the intro in some meter changes. The trumpets alter on fluegelhorns. Notated key Ab.
