| Description: | A fairly straight-through arrangement of this classic bossa, this arrangement starts off with a short glissando intro, that leads into the groove with restricted, brushed drums. The main theme is presented in the two flutes, with brass in the stick, after which the lead flute gets a pick up and solo over the two first choruses – where the drums finally open up. A brief ensemble stick, then leads to a short trombone solo, before a break leads to a minor-streaked interlude. The interlude gives way to an ensemble chorus with flute lead, that ultimately ends into the stick and the main theme – before a paraphrasing outro, with some flute fills, ends the piece. The trumpets are instructed to play fluegelhorns throughout the piece. Notated key D. |
