| Description: | A medium swing ballad that features trombone 1 and 2. This piece starts with a somewhat grand intro, that immediately sets both trombone 1 and 2 into dividing sixteen bars for soloing – both backed up by the other wind instruments in muted backgrounds. After this, the two soloists each get one four-bar to wrap up their soloing, after which a brief ensemble section comes in, where some muted exchanges between the brass and the reeds end with the two feature trombones picking up the main theme. The theme is then mostly presented by the two trombones, with a short intermission from the saxes, but is ended in a shout-like final statement from the ensemble leaving the soloists to end the piece and putting in some solo fills in the final bar. This piece is very suitable as a dance chart. Notated key Eb. |
