First Skiing, Then Practising

I have a couple of much needed days off during which I have relocated to my summer house, where I just spend the days in splendid isolation with an unscheduled life. Now when we in Sweden at last have some real Winter, with a prolonged period of cold weather and a durable snow cover over fields and forests, I also enjoy a couple of continuous days of cross country skiing; which I haven’t done in many, many years…..
So this week for me, I now start the days with a couple of kilometers (a couple of miles) on skis before breakfast, composing and practising. I am by no means a skilled or trained skier, but I have longed for the serenity and peace of cross country skiing, with the swooshing from the skis against the snow, and the chirping of the poles with every push.
As always, I have a new composition under way, and I now work on the planned last regular song of the “Yokai” concert program; a composition for a male vocalist titled “Gathering Cress by the Waterside”. Of course there may be more songs added to the program later on, but for now this is the last planned composition.
I wish all of you visiting here a really nice and happy February!
